Anthropic Updates Consumer Terms and Privacy Policy with Enhanced User Data Controls
Anthropic has rolled out significant revisions to its Consumer Terms and Privacy Policy, granting users greater autonomy over data usage for AI model training. The updates apply to Claude Free, Pro, and Max plans, excluding enterprise services like Claude for Work or API integrations through Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI.
Users now opt-in to share data for model improvement, with retention periods extended to five years for participants. New accounts will select preferences during onboarding, while existing users receive in-app prompts. The MOVE aims to bolster safety mechanisms and refine capabilities in coding, reasoning, and harmful content detection.
